I’m Back! More Good News!

I know I haven’t posted ANYTHING since I announced Holly’s Birth, and she’s going to be TWO in a couple weeks, times flies. (We actually have AdventureWithTheMags.com where we share stories of our travel adventures now instead). This blog was originally created so I could track my pregnancies and I’m so glad I did such a great job documenting the last two, because now I’m back and announcing Baby #3!!! Yep, September 2020 another little one joining our crew (and hopefully the last one). I was torn on whether or not I wanted to blog this one, but then I read through some old posts from the other two and I was so glad I had so much documented. So I decided not to shaft the third kid and come back for more.

I’m currently 11 weeks but I’ll try to recap from 6 weeks on briefly without rambling too much.

So, week 6-11…. We didn’t find out until I was almost 6 weeks, we had been away on a little weekend ski trip in Ellicottville and when we got home I was late so I decided to take a test. I only took one test this time. I know my body and when I saw the big “pregnant” on the digital test, it was all the confirmation I needed this time.  Surprised yes, but not in complete shock like the other two haha.

I had Holly help me with a little photo that I texted to Dan a little while later while sitting across from him on the couch. He was a bit more shocked. We hadn’t really been trying and the plan was kinda to wait for spring, but everything happens for a reason and we are so excited! Below is the photo I shared with Dan.

Eviction Notice

I called my doctor the next morning and she sent me for blood work, everything came back positive and numbers looked good. 48 hours we repeated the blood work and everything more then doubled. Because of my history of miscarriage they did have me in for an early  ultrasound the following week at week 7, we were measuring a little behind where we should have been, so 10 days later we got a second ultrasound just to check on the growth and they were happy with everything. I was supposed to come in at 10 weeks for my first “official” appointment, but we were traveling and so it was postponed until today,  I’m actually 11 weeks 5 days and of course we had a major snow storm blow in last night, so everything is closed today. So we’ll probably be over 12 weeks by the time I get in to see them now.

We waited a couple weeks to share the news with girls, but we told our parents and siblings a few days later. I tricked the girls into taking this picture below in order to share the news.

Sibling Announcement

I told Ada that I wanted to sell these shirts I made on Etsy and she asked no questions. Haha so they took the picture and we texted it to our family. Love sharing this news via text now, haha Its the fastest way to spread news and half our people live out of town anyway!

So how have I been feeling? I’m gonna skip the formal survey that I used to do for now, I may go back to it, but today I’ll just bullet some stuff.

-Thrown up twice already, which is more then I did with both girls (once with each of them).

-I’ve had strept throat twice, a sinus drip/persistent cough, 24 hour stomach bug and a nasty cold. Fortunately nothing serious, like flu, but just enough to keep me feeling like crap most of the time.

-I was working out a lot before I got pregnant, so I felt like I was in the best shape I was ever in before getting pregnant and I intended to keep working out, however being sick all the time hasn’t kept me on track. I think I did good for the first 2 weeks we knew and its been downhill from there.

-Showing? Not really, some days a little and some days not at all. That’s actually the reason I was reading through old blog posts last night, I wanted to see when I started to show last time. With Ada it wasn’t until about 15-16 weeks and with Holly I was noting it as early as 10 weeks, and I even said I was wearing maternity jeans and using a rubber band on my regular jeans already and I’m no where near that yet, so I feel good about that! The scale shows me up anywhere from 0-3 lbs. so hardly anything yet.

-Food? I have a hard time eating, (probably why I haven’t gained much) I can’t really find anything I want most of the time. I’ve had a lot of digestion issues, mostly after eating anything my stomach hurts and I feel so full for the rest of the day that I won’t eat again. I’ve had more carbs than usual but no sweet tooth or anything like I had with Holly. I had a pretty bad coffee aversion, which was unfortunate when I needed it most. I simply had no desire to get any of my usual coffee drinks.

-Miss the most?  Wine. Always and forever will be my answer. We went on a Disney cruise and I really wanted some beverages. Holly had a small injury our first day which lead to a lot more tears then usual and I REALLY needed a glass of wine after that travel day. We’ve also, the last couple years, really developed a taste for good wine and we love trying new stuff and actually enjoy real wine tasting, and so I really miss that, Its gonna be a long summer.

-And Last, I have to do a gender prediction: I think boy! We are all sure we are getting a third girl, because we are most definitely a girl family, but I feel a little different about this pregnancy. A little sicker, and my food aversions and likes are a lot different. I definitely craved sweets with the girls, from Ice cream sandwiches, to candy, to girl scout cookies etc. and this one I’ve been pretty far away from all that.  My Chinese calendar says boy and it was right with both the girls (well Ada we’re not 100% because we don’t know if she was conceived in December or January, lol) 😂 Hopefully we’ll be able to find out in a couple weeks. I think we do some genetic tests around 13 weeks and they were able to tell us Holly was a girl that early. They confirmed at the anatomy screening at 18 weeks, but either way we are only 1-6 weeks away from finding out.

I’ll finish with a sono pic that we had done already and the only two bump pictures I’ve been bothered to take so far. Hopefully now that I’m back to blogging I’ll get a little better at taking them.

Some exciting news to share!!!

Baby Mags #2 is due!!! Finally!!! We found out on Friday, July 7th 2017! Its been quite the 2 year journey getting here, which maybe I’ll recap in another post. For now we are basking in joy that we have another little one joining our family!

I took a test before the 4th of July on the off chance that I was pregnant I wanted to know before I spent the holiday weekend drinking. I thought I was crazy when I saw the faintest line ever and literally chalked it up to wishful thinking! It wasn’t even enough for me to show my husband, it didn’t seem likely. A few days later I was about a day late, which didn’t mean much because my cycles have been a bit longer then they used to be 29-32 days. But I thought I saw another VERY faint line. This time I showed my husband, but still thought I was crazy. It was so light, but when I looked at it 2 hours later, it was darker. I’d read about evaporation lines and how your not supposed to read after the 10 minute window. After that though, the next day I went to the store and got one of the digital ones that say “Pregnant” or “Not Pregnant” because I was over investigating lines, to my HUGE surprise I got a Big Fat Positive!!

I called my IVF doctor that afternoon, and they told me to go get some blood work done first thing Monday morning. If I went in by 10am I’d get same day results. They called back Monday evening and confirmed a positive blood test. They wanted me to repeat the blood test on Wednesday morning and make sure that my numbers we’re doubling every 48 hours. Which they did!! After that they scheduled my first visit with them at just 5 weeks 4 days! The great part of being with my IVF doctor is that they will see me every 2 weeks, and hang on to me as a patients for most of the first trimester!

I’m high risk miscarriage, and so needless to say I’ve been very nervous about it. I’ve held off telling anyone, and we probably won’t for awhile, if I can get away with it.

So we are THRILLED to finally be giving Ada a sibling and make her the best big sister around!! Join us for the journey, I’ll be posting a weekly update on how things are going and doing a little survey each week like I did with Ada. (I made the blog private for a few weeks so that I could share all my posts, but not make it public until we are ready to share our news with the world!)

Introducing our new Baby Girl!!!!

She has arrived, all on her own and 2 weeks early! We were also able to avoid a C-section! Ada Morgan made her debut on September 22, 2013 at 10:26 am, 7 hours after being admitted into the hospital! Baby Ada was very ready to meet us! She was 6 lbs. 13 oz and 19 3/4 long. She is my little peanut for sure and has daddy wrapped around her finger already!

So far we are loving parenthood and couldn’t be happier with our new little family member, she is sleeping and eating very well. Its a lot of work and breastfeeding is probably the hardest thing about all this. But everyone is doing fabulous. I will post her birth story another time, but for now here are some pictures we had done at the hospital and some even cuter ones we had done at 6 days old! (yes she is already a week old – I’m gonna be hard pressed finding time to blog now, as if I already wasn’t bad enough posting updates on time!)

14 Weeks

We spent week 13 in the Dominican Republic on vacation, so I took my 14 week photos at the tail end of the week! I feel like the baby bump started to show up a little bit this week, I still think I just look chubby but everyone else says I look pregnant. Vacation was amazing, even being at an all-inclusive resort not being able to drink was made tolerable by 86 degree days, sunshine and the bright Caribbean! So I can’t complain. We also finally took some photos to make our big reveal on Facebook, I’ve been trying to put this off for as long as possible, but I think my mother will go crazy if I don’t give her permission to announce that she is going to be a grandma soon. So after my 14 week update I will share some of those photos that are going up this week too.

How far along? 14 weeks today
Total weight gain/loss:  I weighed in today 2 lbs heavier, I think vacation and the all you can eat buffet is to blame on this one though!
Maternity clothes?  Just my leggings which are really the only comfortable thing I can wear to work
Stretch marks?  Nope
Sleep: I don’t have a good update on this since our bed on vacation was the worlds most uncomfortable mattress and pillows and caused me to wake up every hour all week
Best moment this week: Being on vacation! Probably our last one child less!
Have you told family and friends:  Yes, everyone close to us knows, Facebook Official is coming soon
Miss Anything?  Wine (of course) Not drinking on vacation wasn’t as bad as I thought, but I do miss cheese… brie, feta, bleu, it was on a lot of food in the restaurants this week and I had to just pick other things.
Movement:  I feel pregnant. I don’t feel the baby yet, but I sometimes can feel hard spots in my tummy or feel like I can feel things shifting around. Weird.
Food cravings:  I really wanted yogurt, granola and fresh fruit something bad this morning which isn’t anything I ever really liked combined before.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Have you started to show yet: Depends on the time of day and what I ate on how big, but yes I think so.
Gender prediction: I am still so torn. I’m gonna stick with boy for now since that was my original guess, but I have no idea
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out?  In
Wedding rings on or off?  On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Going to register for the big baby items next weekend! Finding out the gender May 9! (This will be my answer to this question every week until May 9!)

So this was our second idea, that we thought conveyed the message better!

Telling Family and (some) Friends

We finally made our rounds and told our Family and some close friends this weekend! We went around to our parents house on Sunday before the Superbowl (on my birthday – and what a memorable one it was!) We told both our parents and siblings the same way, I made these little keepsake cards for everyone. Our Mom’s both said “The only thing better then having you for a mom, is our child having you for a Grandma!!” Our Dad’s cards said “The Best Dad’s get promoted to Grandpa” and our brothers and sisters cards all said “I can’t wait to meet my Aunt/Uncle!!” The insides all looked the same with a picture of our running sneakers and an extra tiny pair!

It was so much fun telling everyone, I wish I would have been better about taking photos when we told everyone, we did manage to capture a moment when we told some friends. Both the girls are already pregnant, so I told them I wanted a birthday picture and when Dan held up the camera to get a picture of the three of us, he said “a picture of all the pregnant ladies!” She didn’t get it at first and he had to say it a few times, but her reaction was priceless when she finally got it. Here is the one moment we did manage to catch on camera! The bottom one is blurry because she was running all around! Haha

We told some of our other friends with some clever one liners, Dan spilled the beans once by saying that he had a DD all summer long, took them a minute but they caught on quick. Another set of friends, who are 6 weeks ahead of us, we told by asking them if they wanted to take Baby classes together! We’re waiting to tell everyone else until after my first sonogram which will be February 28th. Once we have the “all is good” from the Doctor I’ll feel better about telling everyone else, and boy will that be easier! Going out with friends is so complicated now, coming up with excuses about why your not drinking on your birthday and during the Superbowl is pretty tricky! It will be nice when we don’t have to pretend anymore!

SURPRISE!!

We found out some BIG news yesterday! We’re PREGNANT! About 5 weeks along! Kinda came as a surprise but kind of not (if that makes sense). We thought about trying and then every time it was the right time I got cold feet and backed out wanting to wait a little longer. But to our surprise when I finally decided I needed to take a test I saw a little something I really wasn’t expecting. After 3 positive tests I think I am finally starting to believe it, but I’m still completely shocked, and thrilled of course!!
I immediately ran downstairs to tell my hubby Dan, and I was shaking so bad I didn’t even have any words, he said he wished he would have taken video of me telling him.  I started crying, I was excited and scared to death! I called the doctor today and started the beginning appointments, blood work tomorrow and we’ll be able to go in for our first sonogram at 9 weeks which will be about the end of February. This weekend we’ll probably be telling our parents and maybe closest friends because who can keep this kind of secret any longer!?!?! As soon as I have the blood work back and confirmed we will do that. Dan wants to tell everyone now and I’m making him wait! Since when am I the calm one? He’s usually the play it cool type and I’m the one who wants to do everything yesterday! This sure will be an interesting experience for us. More to come, but for now here is my very first belly pic, (aka my last flat tummy pic) that we took last night for the blog. (I have to get better at taking these photos, Sorry for all the junk in the pic!)
I’m going to keep track with a little questionnaire thing that I can answer the same questions every week, so hence this blog was born! A place to track everything, for myself and some friends and family who live out of town!

How far along? 5 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Still the same right now

Maternity clothes? No
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: This morning I woke up at 4am and couldn’t fall back asleep, I think I’m still having a little anxiety over this realization.
Best moment this week: Finding out we were pregnant!!
Have you told family and friends: Not yet
Miss Anything? I already miss my wine
Movement: No
Food cravings: No
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Have you started to show yet: No, still very early
Gender prediction:  Have absolutely no ideas yet, still trying to believe there is actually a baby in there!
Labor Signs: No pregnancy symptoms of any kind, I will cherish this for now!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: I haven’t noticed a difference in anything yet, although I did cry when I told Dan yesterday, and I think I started to cry three times on my car ride to work this morning, excited and scared to death tears.
Weekly Wisdom/ Thought of the week: Take a test if your late, don’t chalk it up to being newly off the pill, it can happen right away! We apparently are proof of that!
Looking forward to: Getting blood work back confirming everything. I am in a little state of denial still I think. 4 tests can’t all be lying right??
